Richard Bull
Richard Bull (born June 26, 1924 - died February 3, 2014) was a film, television, and stage actor who played Nels Oleson, the mercantile owner on Little House on the Prairie.
Born and raised in Zion, Illinois, a Northwest Chicago suburb, Richard began his stage career at the famous Goodman Theatre in Chicago. He was otherwise know as the Doctor on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, various roles on Mannix, and Judge Thatcher on Nichols.
Other than Little House, Bull made two appearances on both Bonanza as Jess Hill and Highway to Heaven as the doctor. Also appearing in the The Andy Griffith Show, Bewitched, Mission: Impossible, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, and Gunsmoke. He lived in Chicago, Illinois with his wife, Barbara.
After years of living in Los Angeles, he moved back to Chicago in 1994 with his wife Barbara Collentine. The couple moved to the Utah home from Chicago in September 2012. Bull died February 3, 2014, at Utah Valley Hospital, Provo, Utah, long after having suffered from pneumonia.
